Back in 1982, Elspeth Beard was just 23, living as a student in London and halfway through an architecture degree when she decided to embark on her record-making adventure around the world. Armed with just her bike tools and a few clothes, she headed to New York and from there, followed wherever the warmer weather took her. - - - When we launched in 2006, The Bike Insurer was the world’s first dedicated motorbike insurance comparison site. Our founder, a biker, was tired of price comparison websites only catering to car drivers – it wasn’t fair. He decided to do something about it and that’s how The Bike Insurer was born.
