Laura Mommicchi is a French underwater photographer, videographer, and freediving instructor, based in France. Her work explores themes of movement, embodiment, breath, transformation, and the relationship between humans and water. Through her photography, she seeks to reveal aspects of people that often remain unseen, using water as both a creative medium and a metaphor for inner exploration. Growing up around the Mediterranean Sea, Laura developed a natural connection with the water from an early age. She later combined her passion for freediving with photography, creating a distinctive artistic style centered on underwater imagery and human expression. Her work ranges from freediving competitions and athlete photography to fine-art portrait experiences and immersive visual storytelling. She is the founder of Below The Wave, a creative platform dedicated to underwater photography, artistic portraiture, workshops, and fine-art collections.
