In this video from the HYDRA series, we explore isolation as one of the first consequences of the Fall and one of the most silent strategies of the human heart. After sinning, Adam doesn't run to God, but hides. Since then, isolation has presented itself as a safe place, a way to avoid new pains, conflicts, and disappointments. However, what seems like protection can become a hiding place that distances us from God, from people, and even from ourselves. The Bible reveals that sin not only breaks our communion with the Creator, but also destroys the relationships for which we were created, making fear, shame, and self-sufficiency the foundations of an increasingly lonely life. We also reflect on how this reality manifests itself today. We live in a generation that is increasingly connected, but emotionally more isolated, marked by the difficulty of trusting, creating deep bonds, and remaining vulnerable in the face of others. We often call this distancing peace, independence, or self-care, when in reality we are only building hiding places to avoid being hurt again.
