Beyond Labels | What does it mean to be Black and gay in the UK? [GMFA]
What does it mean to be Black and gay in the UK? Back in 2010, GMFA explored the life experiences of a group of men who all too often have been rendered invisible in history and stigmatised by their own communities because of their sexuality and race. Focusing on a range of Black gay men of different ages and cultural backgrounds, Beyond Labels looks at how racism and homophobia can impact upon the construction of a healthy Black and gay identity. Featuring Theodore Brown, Vernal Scott, Christian Neckles, Dejay Scott and John Noel Gylnn. Produced by GMFA - the gay men's health project. Filmed by Jaime Sylla. Funded by Big Lottery.
