This call often manifests itself as dissatisfaction, vague desire, or a sense of emptiness, even in the absence of concrete problems. Human beings are described as torn between two internal forces: the higher self, evolved and inclined toward good, and the lower self, resistant to change, lazy, and bound to ego and habits. The inner call is not easy to follow precisely because of the lower self, which offers excuses ("I don't have time," "I'm too busy," "it's too difficult") to avoid self-confrontation. God—or the spiritual principle that guides us—does not impose, but responds to the soul's free will. Only those who make a clear and unconditional decision to answer the call will receive the right tools and people to evolve internally. The journey requires effort, willpower, and even suffering, but it is seen as a process of liberation, similar to that experienced by someone who frees themselves from an addiction. What initially seems like a sacrifice later reveals itself to be a profound relief. A fundamental step is the invitation to sincerely know oneself, to shed masks and be vulnerable. Only in this way can one give authentic love and receive it in return. When we appear perfect, we generate distance and a sense of inferiority in others; when we show ourselves human and sincere, we create connection and mutual healing.
