This Storm Is 3 Months Early

Is a rare summertime Nor’easter really about to develop along the East Coast? In today’s weather update, I break down the coastal storm expected to form later this week, why it may not qualify as a true Nor’easter, and where several inches of heavy rain could fall across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. I’ll compare the latest European and GFS model guidance, examine the projected wind gusts and surface pressure, and explain the potential impacts for New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Long Island, New England, and surrounding areas. While this system appears relatively weak, parts of the Northeast could still experience prolonged rainfall and localized flooding concerns. I’m also tracking a significant severe weather threat across the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley, with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a limited tornado risk. The severe thunderstorm threat will then shift toward the Mid-Atlantic, Appalachians, and Southeast.
