The Politics of Resistance with Abdaljawad Omar

What are the politics of Palestine, and who are the major political players? Is it Fatah, the PFLP or DFLP within the context of the PLO? Or are the stronger forces those of political Islam, belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad? Or is this at alla useful dichotomy through which to view these questions? Aboud Hamayel, also known under his pen name Abdaljawad Omar is a writer and theorist and a Lecturer of Philosophy at Bir Zeit University on the Occupied West Bank. Abdaljawad gives us a detailed outline of the history of different political currents in Palestine. Interestingly, he does not give as much credence to the idea of an Islamist-secular split as other scholars of this field.
