RAILTIME - Shortlines of Ontario volume 6

Filmed between 2011 and 2012. We begin with the GEXR at the west end of Guelph. 4001, Lakeland and Waterways GP9-4 does some switching and then heads up the North Spur to the Guelph Jct Railway Interchange. Next westbound train 431 comes through with FEC 709 and leased GSCX 7369 for power. This train is returning from interchanging with CN at MacMillan Yard. Next we catch the Guelph Jct railway heading back to Guelph Jct at Cardigan street in Guelph. Power is an RS23 and an RS18u of CP Rail heritage. On August 27, 2011 we stopped by the St Thomas and Eastern yard in Tillsonburg and got some photos of ex-CP Rail 1842., lettered for parent company, Trillium. In the Fall of 2011 we got some footage of Orangeville-Brampton’s Credit Valley Explorer heading south from Orangeville. First we catch is crossing Willoughby Road. Next we see it going over a bridge at The Grange Sideroad and then just north of Snelgrove. On the return journey the train stops at Inglewood. We catch it here as it sets off again for Orangeville. We see it for the last time at Station Street in Alton. On another shortline adventure we found ourselves tracing the Southern Ontario Railway line south from Brantford. At Garnet we see a pair of CEFX GP20D units switching the yard before heading down to Nanticoke. On our way back to Cambridge we were just in the nick of time to see another SOR train heading north over the Grand River bridge at Caledonia. This was the last shortline footage be shot before moving to Alberta in the spring of 2012.
