On 9 November 1984, ITN's Keith Hatfield joined Serjeant Bill Hay of the Royal Scots, Rifleman Jack Brown of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, Private Leonard Baldwin of the East Surrey Regiment, and Lieutenant Fred Beadle of the Royal Field Artillery as they revisited the Somme battlefields in France, where they had served some 68 years before.
