A high-pitched clang can be heard from deep within the Ueno campus. Following the sound, we find first-year students in the sculpture department, chisels in hand, carving large stones. Starting with tool making, the students spend time working with the stone, immersing their senses in their bodies. This experience fuels their creative potential. "This time enriches our lives."
