Make Them Know closes out both the “Make Them” series and the album itself, and it honestly feels like the most important track on the entire project. By this point Drake sounds completely different emotionally than he did at the start of the album. A lot of the themes finally come together here, especially the tension around loyalty, reputation, the industry, and freedom. The biggest moment for me is how heavily this song seems to imply that Drake has finally separated himself from his label situation and is stepping into a completely different phase of his career. But the ending is what really sticks with you. Drake basically tells the listener that the innocent version of himself is gone now. Not sad, not emotional… just gone. It gives the entire finale a colder and more final feeling than I expected and honestly leaves the album ending on a pretty haunting note.
