Mara Gabrilli works for the rights of people with disabilities and their inclusion in education, work, and society. She is an advertising professional, psychologist, city councilwoman, and federal deputy for the state of São Paulo. She was the first Municipal Secretary for People with Disabilities. In 1997, she founded the Mara Gabrilli Institute, which develops programs to defend the rights of people with disabilities. In 2012, she was the rapporteur for Law 12.764/12, which established the National Policy on the Rights of People with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
