OBJETIVO PLANETA | QUIBAS, ECOLOGÍA Y CLIMA de hace 1 MILLÓN DE AÑOS en el sureste ibérico | RTVE

Objetivo Planeta travels to Abanilla, in Murcia, because it is home to the Quibas paleontological site, perhaps less well-known, but one of the most important in Spain and one of the most valuable time capsules in Europe. Quibas allows for the precise reconstruction of the climatic and ecological changes of the Lower Pleistocene, around 1.1 million years ago, and thanks to its extraordinary wealth of faunal fossils, it preserves one of the best continuous sequences of terrestrial vertebrates in Europe. Among its discoveries is the oldest known Iberian lynx, dating back nearly a million years. Lorenzo Milá and the researchers who lead and study this site will guide us through the distant past of the Iberian Peninsula. They are: Pedro Piñero, paleontologist at the University of Valencia and co-director of the site; Jordi Agustí, paleontologist at ICP-CERCA and also co-director; Lucía Peiró, chemist at the University of Valencia; Casto Laborda, geologist at ICP-CERCA; Albert Navarro, paleontologist; Ana Ruiz, environmental scientist; and Naum Méndez, geologist at the University of Valencia. #Quibas #paleontology #Murcia #Fossils #Pleistocene #FixtureSite #objectiveplanet #lorenzomila #breakingnews #news #LiveNews #StreamingNews #live #spain #newsinspanish #news 👉👉 More news: https://www.rtve.es/noticias ➤SUBSCRIBE to RTVE News on YouTube: https://bit.ly/2WtyvUx ✔️Follow us on Instagram:   / rtvenoticias   ✔️Follow us on Twitter:   / rtvenoticias   ✔️Follow us on Facebook:   / rtvenoticias
