On this tour of Quito's hot neighborhoods, we arrived at the Jaime Roldós neighborhood, located north of Quito, and were able to experience the current atmosphere. Residents told us that the situation is calming down and that the National Police patrols are becoming more frequent. We met the friendly and charismatic people and had lunch at a restaurant that has been well-known for many years and is much preferred by the community. Some neighbors who like guanchaca (a type of barbecue) told us about the neighborhood's history and showed us a machete wound they received during a fight.
