Ricoh GR10 Disassembly & Repair Guide for Common Issues

I am grateful for the video by ‪@awaysounds‬ which covers the first issue that I discuss here:    • ricoh gr1s don't turn on issue or don't ex...   I watched that video before making this video, but forgot to reference it. NOTE: Do not use cyanoacrylate (commonly known as super glue or krazy glue) in camera repair. In my video I use the term "superglue" but did not mean to recommend cyanoacrylate. Please see the comments for recommended adhesives. Trying to share all I've learned about the GR10 from my time working on it. This video addresses these common issues: 1. The lens barrel won't extend (the camera does not appear to power on) 2. The film advance is loud, slow, or makes clicking sounds 3. The date LCD cover has detached 4. The top plate buttons are mushy 5. The top LCD is misaligned in the top plate window CAUTION: Please watch through "IMPORTANT REPAIR SAFETY NOTES" before disassembling. Disassembling a camera with a built-in flash is dangerous, and precautions must be taken. I hope this video is helpful to anyone who has a GR10 with one of these issues, or would just like to learn more about this wonderful little camera. 00:00 Removing the main body plate 04:19 IMPORTANT REPAIR SAFETY NOTES 05:20 Issue 1: Lens barrel will not extend (camera does not power on) 08:11 Issue 2: Film advance (loud, slow, clicking sounds) 09:27 Removing the top plate part 1/2 11:11 Issue 3: Date LCD cover has detached 11:40 Removing the top plate part 2/2 11:48 Issues 4 and 5: Discussion of parts under the top plate 13:50 Aside: Shutter release spring maintenance 15:50 Replacing the top plate 18:24 Caution against inserting the battery with the top plate off 19:56 Replacing the main body plate 21:58 Closing remarks
