Let's chat....Our Parenting Style | Fair Play | Managing Expectations

Hey fam, we went to pick up some lunch to get out of the house and thought we'd take you guys with us. We ended up talking about parenting...we have a solid idea of the types of parents we want to be but we're definitely leaving room to fill in the details of the HOW depending on baby and how we adjust to being first time parents. I think respect and communication, as always, will be at the core of our parenting style. We also believe in "Fair Play" where workload is distributed as fairly as possible whilst keeping in mind that we have different strengths and should lean into them as parents and partners. Managing and communicating expectations is something we do with each other and we hope to do and teach our daughter. We also touch on emotional regulation. I just don't think we can teach our daughter skills that we ourselves don't possess so continuing to work on ourselves is probably the best thing that we can do for her. What are your thoughts?
