On the agenda: discovering a magnificent, almost deserted garden, a stroll through an authentic shotengai (shopping center) in northern Kyoto, enjoying a delicious bento box by the Kamo River, visiting the majestic Shimogamo-jinja Shrine, having coffee at a place I'd been dreaming of trying for ages, and, to end the day perfectly, an excellent dinner featuring one of the great classics of Japanese cuisine: unagi (a type of Japanese rice pudding).
