Le calvaire des "enfants sorciers" au Togo I Focus • FRANCE 24

Togo is one of the sub-Saharan African countries where belief in witchcraft is still widespread. Children born with a special need are particularly vulnerable. Whether they are disabled, restless, or gifted, they are often accused of being witches and held responsible for tragedies, such as the death of a loved one. They are then subjected to all sorts of abuse: kidnapping, forced labor, torture... until death ensues. Warning: Some images in this report may be disturbing.
