Measuring Livelihoods within a Sustainable Paradigm: A Micro-Level Analysis of Rural Households | Distinguished Guest Lecture | AIF | Date: 30th October, 2025 Time: 6:30 pm onwards Professor S. Gregory is a renowned anthropologist and former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Chairperson, Department of Anthropology at Kannur University. He holds an M.A. and M.Phil. from Poona and Madras Universities, and a Ph.D. from ISEC, Bangalore under Mysore University. He served as Director of the School of Distance Education and held additional charge as Director, HRDC at Kannur University. A recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Lecturer Fellowship (2011–12), he taught at the University of Chicago and delivered invited lectures at several U.S. institutions, including GWU, Boston University, and Rutgers. He organized a panel at the 17th IUAES World Congress and led the 10th INCAA Congress in 2013. With over 60 publications and 5 books, his work focuses on sustainable development, participatory research, and decentralized planning.
