Today we will reflect on the experiences and thoughts of those who have reached what is considered the midpoint of our lives. No one knows when they will die, but considering an average life expectancy, the so-called middle age can begin as early as 30 or 35 years old, but this varies from person to person and historical period to historical period. We will show that the midlife crisis is an experience that spans generations and millennia, so much so that we find references to this phenomenon in two works that we will discuss in this episode: *Meditations*, by the Roman emperor and Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius, and *The Divine Comedy*, by Dante Alighieri, published in 1321.
