In the first position, there are different fingerings, which I discuss in this video and show examples of songs in which they appear. In this sixth episode of my violin course, I'll show you how to position your fingers correctly on the violin. We'll start in the first position, and I'll show you how to play the open strings with correct posture and a good bow. Then we'll move on to the individual fingers, showing you how to correctly adjust the spacing between your fingers using small adhesive dots or strips of tape. I'll also explain the importance of hand position and the position of your arm and body on the violin. You'll learn how to achieve a nice straight line and place your thumb correctly. Using examples from the first position, I'll show you the half-tone and whole-tone intervals and how to place your fingers correctly. Finally, there's a tip on how to use stickers for the correct spacing on the violin.
