Thinking this, Naradaji went to the place where the Lord was sitting happily.॥4॥ Singing the story of Ram in soft words. With love, he narrated it in many ways. Doing obeisances, he lifted him up and kept him in his heart many times.॥5॥ Meaning: He was coming while singing the story of Lord Rama, narrating it in many ways with love and soft words. Seeing him prostrating, Shri Ramchandraji picked him up and held him close to his heart for a long time.॥5॥ Asking for his welcome, he made him sit near him. Lakshmana respectfully washed his feet.॥6॥ Meaning: Then after asking for his well-being, he made him sit near him. Lakshmana washed his feet with respect.॥6॥ Couplet: Knowing that the Lord was pleased after pleading in many ways, Narada then spoke with folded hands like lotus.॥41॥ Quatrain: Listen, O generous and simple Raghunayak. Giver of beautiful, inaccessible and easy boons. Give me one boon, O Lord, I ask for it, even though you know the inner secret. Meaning: O Lord Raghunath, generous by nature! Listen. You are the giver of beautiful, inaccessible and easy boons. O Lord! I ask for one boon; grant it to me, even though you, being the knower of all, know everything. O sage, you know my nature. Will I ever distance myself from people? What thing is so dear to me that I, O sage, cannot ask for it? 2. Meaning: (Lord Rama said,) O sage, you know my nature. Do I ever hide anything from my devotees? What thing is so dear to me that you, O best of sages, cannot ask for it? 2. Nothing is undeserved for me. Do not give up such faith. Then Narada said with joy, "I am being impudent in asking for such a boon." 3. Meaning: Nothing is undeserved for me by my devotees. Do not give up such faith even by mistake. Then Narada said with joy, "I am asking for such a boon, but I am being impudent." 3. * Although the Lord has many names, and the scriptures say that there is more than one. Rama is greater than all the names, O Lord, and is like a hunter for the flock of birds of sin. 4. Meaning: Although the Lord has many names, and the Vedas say that they are all greater than one, yet O Lord, may the name of Rama be greater than all the names, and may it be like a hunter for the flock of birds of sin. 4. Doha: In the night of devotion to you, the name of Ram is the same moon. May other names fly and reside in the pure sky of the devotees' hearts. 42 (a) Meaning: Your devotion is like the full moon night; in that night, may the name 'Ram' become the full moon, and may all other names become stars and reside in the pure sky of the devotees' hearts. 42 (a) "So be it," said the ocean of mercy, Raghunath, to the sage. Then Narada, overjoyed, bowed his head at the feet of the Lord. 42 (b) Meaning: The ocean of mercy, Shri Raghunath, said "So be it" to the sage. Then, overjoyed, Narada bowed his head at the feet of the Lord. 42 (b) Quatrain: Knowing that Raghunath is very pleased, Narada spoke softly.
