Before the full-scale invasion, 350,000 people lived in Kherson. Today, just over 60,000. Another 24,000 are displaced from the occupied territories. Every day there are artillery shelling, airstrikes, FPV drone drops, and petal mines at intersections. We spoke with those who remained: a woman who lost her son, a protector, and doesn't want to leave his memory; a pensioner with a concussion who is replacing her windows for the third time; a displaced person from Selydove who has something to compare it to; and those who plant flowers in their yards and paint their entryways—because the enemy has no right to stop their lives.
