It is probably the most popular bird in Brazil. Known for its aggressive behavior, it even threatens hawks and vultures when they approach its territory. Common in urban areas, the Great Kiskadee often perches in prominent locations, such as poles and treetops, and is frequently seen singing on telephone wires, on rooftops, or bathing in tanks and fountains in public squares, demonstrating its great adaptability. It is one of the first birds to sing at dawn and, although it is usually seen alone, it can sometimes be observed in small groups of three or four, which commonly gather on television antennas.
