Only Black Baby Boomers Will Understand: Cultural Practices and Traditions from the Black Community (1960s-1970s) These are twenty-five cultural practices from the Black community in the 1960s and 1970s that shaped how love, respect, and family worked in ways that today's generation would find completely foreign. Black Baby Boomers born between 1946 and 1964 lived through a time when dating came with rules, community wielded real power, and respect wasn't optional. We're walking through the traditions that defined courtship, marriage, and daily life in Black households during those decades. Some practices you probably took for granted, others you might have rebelled against, but all of them created a cultural foundation that's largely vanished from modern life.
