How to Install Quarter Turn Taps

Disassemble your quarter new taps starting by removing the handle with your allen key and then unscrew the dress flange Now this next part is CRUCIAL! make sure that you separate the Locking Nut from the Ceramic Cartridge Spindle as shown here. This is what your parts should look like. IMPORTANT! This nylon seal at the base of the ceramic cartridge MUST be able to seal against the existing tap seat. This is why the ceramic cartridge spindle and the locking nut need to be separated prior to installation. Screw in the ceramic cartridge by hand until it reaches the tap seat. Then gently tighten with a spanner at about the same strength you would use to turn off a tap. Place the fibre washer over and then tighten on the lock nut firmly with a spanner. Screw your dress flange into the locking nut this only has to be tightened by hand. Place the handle into your desired position and fasten using the allen key. Press the chrome caps into the screw holes. You can now turn on your water supply at the mains. Check for any leaks and test your new quarter turn taps.
