Le scratching est il vraiment nécessaire pour un DJ?

This video reflects on the usefulness of scratching for DJs. Is scratching necessary or simply a tool for transitions between different BPMs? Learning to scratch is a long, difficult, and initially unrewarding process, much like learning a musical instrument, where scales must be practiced tirelessly. It's a gradual sensorimotor learning process. Scratching is, of course, necessary for mixing within the cultural world of Hip-hop, Rap, and Urban Music. It's essential for a Turnbalist. However, for a club DJ, a generalist DJ, a stage DJ, or an event DJ, it's merely a rather useless transition tool. A DJ's work cannot and should not be consumed by the art of scratching. In most paid performances, the audience wants to dance and have fun. It's the music selection and the atmosphere created by the DJ that count, much more than their scratching ability. Star DJs almost never scratch. 🧐 As an experienced DJ, I dare say that scratching isn't necessary for a successful performance, even though it allows for unique and dynamic transitions. For those who don't know how to scratch and don't have the time or inclination to spend long hours practicing, there's no shame in that. In fact, I plan to show, in a second video, simple techniques for adding a little scratching to your transitions and mixes. Just to free ourselves a bit more from the criteria imposed by the "virtual DJ academy." #howtodj #djtutorial #djmix #djset #djcontroller
