In 2019 Olympic gold medalist Nathan Adrian made a video with Movember where he shared the details of his journey with testicular cancer. Alex was still in school when he saw this video and while he admired Nathan's strength, he didn't think much about it beyond that. Until he got his own testicular cancer diagnosis years later, and decided to reach out to Nathan directly. Nathan responded and Alex realized this journey was not something he had to go through alone.
