Very Early Antique Music Box with Exposed Controls C. 1830

Very early exposed controls key wind music box made in around 1830. Made during the late Georgian era, this pre-Victorian Swiss musical box demonstrates exactly why the early key wind boxes are so coveted. Pre-dating the drop down end flap design, this box has its three control levers exposed to the left hand side of its case. The case itself is of the plain early design, featuring all of the warmth and character that these very early boxes seem to possess. The tune programme is delightful and is played to perfection, the same as it would have done almost two centuries ago. A wonderful historic musical record of what our Georgian ancestors once listened to. Movement and case have been lovingly restored the very highest standard.
