If you're new to my channel, my name is Dr. Kyle David. I'm the founder of Dr. David, LLC, where I teach AI governance, U.S. and European privacy law, and privacy program management to professionals around the world. I spent four years inside the U.S. federal government building AI and privacy programs before going out on my own. Given this is a YT channel and anyone can claim anything, here's the path I actually took, most of which you can Google and verify below. How I got here… 2005: Graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in English and a minor in History. 2005: Moved overseas and taught English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) across Europe. 2006: Relocated to the People's Republic of China to keep teaching English. I also co-founded my first business, a TESOL certification institute. 2007–2014: Certified 200+ teachers through that institute, in partnership with Heilongjiang Engineering University. 2014: Earned my M.A. in History from Heilongjiang University, then moved back to the U.S. and started my Ph.D. at the University of California, Irvine. 2014–2021: Taught undergraduates modern Chinese history, East Asian history, and world history at UC Irvine, as well as at Irvine Valley College, San Diego Community College, Chaffey Community College, and remotely for Washington State University's global degree program. 2021: Finished my Ph.D. in History at UC Irvine and joined the U.S. Department of Energy as a Management & Program Analyst in the Office of Privacy Management and Compliance (as a Presidential Management Fellow). 2022–2023: Earned my CIPP/US and CIPM and completed Carnegie Mellon's Privacy Engineering Certificate. 2024: Founded Dr. David, LLC. Earned the AIGP and became a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). 2021–2025: At the DOE, designed, developed, and delivered four agency-wide courses on AI literacy and federal privacy, training 400+ federal employees and contractors. 2025: Earned my CIPP/E, CISSP, and ISACA's Advanced in AI Security Management. Left federal service to run Dr. David, LLC full-time. 2026: Completed MIT's No-Code AI and Machine Learning program.
