W.C.E. - Büssing AG Evolution (1903 - 1971)

Büssing AG Evolution (1903 - 1971) Büssing AG was a German bus and truck manufacturer, established in 1903 by Heinrich Büssing in Braunschweig. Early on, Büssing focused on motor trucks, buses, and engines. Innovated with anything from underfloor diesel engines to chassis design. Expanded product range, acquired Neue Automobil‐Gesellschaft in 1931 to become Büssing-NAG. Gained reputation for buses and trucks. During WWII, produced for the war effort; suffered wartime damage and used forced labour in some factory sites. After the war, resumed production, especially distinguishing themselves with underfloor engines and innovations in bus chassis and coach design. Financial pressures mounted in the 1960s; in 1962 Salzgitter AG became a major shareholder. In 1971, Büssing was taken over by MAN AG. The Büssing name gradually disappeared, but the Brunswick Lion emblem was retained by MAN and still appears in some MAN commercial vehicle designs. ——————————————————— ► Thanks for watching !
