The Ministry of Agriculture, along with the Indonesian Navy (TNI) and the Nganjuk Regency Government, is strengthening collaboration to accelerate national soybean self-sufficiency. During the soybean harvest in Nganjuk, East Java, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that soybeans are a strategic commodity whose production must be immediately boosted to prevent Indonesia from becoming dependent on imports. On that occasion, Minister Amran also highlighted the damage to the national soybean ecosystem, which has led to imports still dominating domestic demand. The government is preparing various forms of support, including superior Grobogan variety seeds, agricultural machinery, and price protection schemes to encourage farmers to grow soybeans.
