We follow this through the beautiful forest slightly ascending to a fork, now it goes to the left in steeper serpentines on a wider path about 400 hm uphill into the valley basin Häbelesgund. Arrived in the basin, the trail forks, on the left it goes up to the Breitenberg, on the right to the Rotspitze, the ridge can be hiked in both directions. On the left there is also a small wooden hut, where drinks are available for self-service, the money is thrown into a cash register. We now follow the trail in the direction of the Rotspitze, first it continues moderately steeply uphill, then in steep zigzags to the saddle below the Rotspitze. From here it's another 200 meters upwards in rocky terrain, with partly higher rock steps, ropes and easy climbing sections that never go beyond the I. level. From the summit you then have a fantastic 360° view of the Allgäu mountains. Continuing from the summit, the trail first descends and then climbs again to the Heubatspitze, the trail is easy but often runs directly along the edge, to the left it descends steeply for several hundred meters. The descent from the Heubatspitze is again much more demanding, rockier and also requires hands at times. Then the wire rope starts and the very exposed ridge of the Hohe Gänge to the Breitenberg, the most exciting part comes right at the beginning with a narrow rock ridge and a descent via a ladder. After that, unsecured walking sections alternate with wire-rope-secured sections. At the southern summit of the Breitenberg the trail ends, you can descend back into the valley basin and return via the ascent path, or like us continue to the Breitenberg summit cross and from here down through the Hintersteiner valley. The descent is not difficult, scenic very beautiful, but very long. In the valley it goes along the left side of the Ostrach past the carriage museum, which is worth a stop! The last 2 km always run along the Ostrach back to the parking lot.
