A Beautiful morning in Ma’agan Michael

Not long ago, I met up with Uri Magnus Dotan at Ma’agan Michael to experiment with recording sound underwater. It all started from my wish to have real ocean sound in the DocoTime episode about me. But from the moment Itai Asher told me he wanted to make the episode until the actual shoot, there was less than a week. There wasn’t enough time to test, order, or prepare the equipment that was coming from abroad. Still, those who listen carefully will notice there’s sound from the sea that was recorded with the action camera mounted on the surfboard. So once the gear finally arrived, we went out for a fun day at the kibbutz to see what we could do. It really opened my mind to the possibilities this technology brings. On one hand, it’s a slightly technical video with plenty of talk about microphones, but on the other hand, it’s full of good vibes. A great morning with Uri Magnus Dotan, Steve, and me. Big thanks to Ori Ben Naim for the help, and of course to Duo Brothers for the music accompanying the video. ——————- לא מזמן נפגשתי עם אורי מגנוס דותן במעגן מיכאל, כדי לעשות ניסוי של הקלטת סאונד במים. הכול התחיל בכלל מהרצון שלי שיהיה בפרק של דוקותיים סאונד אמיתי מהים. אבל מהרגע שאיתי אשר אמר לי שהוא רוצה לעשות עליי פרק ועד הצילומים היה פחות משבוע. לא היה זמן לבדוק, להזמין או להתארגן על הציוד שהגיע מחו”ל, ובכל זאת, מי ששם לב, בפרק יש שם סאונד מהים שהוקלט עם מצלמת האקשן שהייתה על הגלשן. אז כשהציוד הגיע, יצאנו ליום כיף בקיבוץ לבדוק מה אפשר לעשות. זה פתח לי לגמרי את הראש לאפשרויות שהטכנולוגיה הזו מביאה איתה. מצד אחד זה סרטון קצת טכני עם חפירות על מיקרופונים, ומצד שני יש הרבה גוד וייבס. בוקר כיפי עם אורי מגנוס, דותן, סטיב ואיתי. תודה גדולה לאורי בן נעים על העזרה, ותודה גדולה לדואו בראדרס על המוזיקה שמלווה את הווידאו.
