Brooke and Phoebe are worried when Rick doesn't wake up after being hit by Ridge. Brooke is horrified that Ridge hit her son, but Ridge makes it clear that Phoebe needs to stay away from Rick. Phoebe runs away to a local park in Sydney and Rick runs after her. Rick promises Phoebe that this is not the end of their love story, it's only the beginning. Brooke is not sure that she can marry a man who can harm her son; she tells Ridge that she can't be his wife. Ridge pleads for another chance but Brooke says her love for him has dried up.
