Today, we shall be doing a product features and walk-around on the Manitou MT 1840 with a Stage Five engine. Easy Step 00:09 | On the 1840, not only do we have the Easy Step to make it easy – in and out of the cab – we’ve also got . . . electric window, fully adjustable cloth seat, fitted with a retractable seatbelt but also a seatbelt interlock to indicate – via a green beacon – when a seatbelt is worn by the driver. We’ve got a fully adjustable steering column. We’ve got directional air vents that will help make it nice and cool in the cab. In this instance, because the customer has specified air conditioning – so we’ve also got that fitted, and the controls are right here on the dash. Very easy for the operator to find. The cab is also filtered – in its natural state – with or without air conditioning. Enhanced Dash 00:55 | The 1840 Stage Five comes with a new dash. Very clear and easy to use, particularly compared to older machines. You can see – very easily – parking buttons, automatic parking, bucket mode, swing load mode, flashing beacon on and off, joystick isolation for road use, and other buttons which help you navigate through the dash should you need to reset the hours – should you need to do a periodic reset on the LMI, in itself. The LMI – you can see is here and is very easy to spot. Interior Features 01:35 | Other standard features for a UK fit would be the inner rear-view mirror. Obviously, the level bubble to enable the operator to make sure the boom is level before he carries out these lifts, side wiper – very handy on a rainy day – all the lights here – all the light controls for the roof beacons, and so on and so forth and all the wipers. We’ve got a roof blind to make sure that the sun doesn’t beat down on the operator. Ergonomically Designed 02:00 | All Manitou MT machines are fitted with a JSM joystick – that’s joystick switch and move. You can clearly see how ergonomic the joystick is in itself and how easy my hand fits to it. The new Stage Five joystick comes with a capacitive sensor so I don’t have any buttons to press to activate the hydraulics. I just put my hand on the joystick and the machine detects it. On the front, I’ve got the forward and reverse. Very easy. The two rollers control the boom telescope, and the auxiliary service. In this case, the double forks positioning. Very easy to use. In Conclusion 02:39 | Thank you for watching Locators’ latest video.
