Most Visiting Cyclists Misread This French Sign
Most visiting cyclists in France ride straight past this sign without knowing what it means. Get it wrong, and you find out the hard way: a car pulls out from your right and does not slow down. This is the yellow diamond, the route prioritaire sign, and it catches out riders from the UK, the US and Australia more than any other sign in France. In this video I explain what it actually means, why it works the opposite way to what you expect, and the simple rule I ride by to stay safe. What the video covers: What the yellow diamond really tells you Why a village with no diamond is the real danger What priorité à droite means for you on a bike (Article R415-5 of the Code de la route) What the crossed-out diamond is warning you about The 3 rules I ride by at every junction I have ridden and worked on these roads since 2008. This is the sort of thing nobody warns you about until it is too late. Planning to cycle in France? Get my free guide before you go: https://morethan21bends.com/10-cyclin...
