A Guy Called Gerald on live performance – Interview and Roland T-8 jam
As an innovator of acid house and jungle, Gerald Simpson is one of the most influential names in the evolution of UK dance music. Unlike a lot of major names in electronic music, Simpson has always favoured live performance over DJing. We sat down with A Guy Called Gerald at this year's @brightonmusicconf, and took the opportunity to discuss how and why he performs live, his current gear setup, and to watch him demo how he wrings spontaneous jams out of compact gear like Roland's T-8 beat machine.
