Downfall of Jahm Ibn Safwan - Debate with the Indians | Abu Iyaad

Shaykh Abu Iyaad حفظه الله gives us a brief history of the debates of Jahm Ibn Safwan, which caused the beginning of his deviance. After these debates, Jahm delved deeper into philosophy and tried combining our religion with it, resulting in the deviant beliefs of the Jahmiyyah that birthed later sects such as the Ashaa’irah and Maturidiyyah that are present today. The lesson we can draw from the mistakes of Jahm is recognising the dangers of debating and speaking without knowledge, alongside controlling our ego and perfecting sincerity when defending the religion.
