Knolly's Tunnel - The Longest Tunnel In The Caribbean #Gallivanting

Knolly's Tunnel Tabaquite Trinidad and Tobago.. the longest tunnel in the Caribbean is featured in this episode of #Gallivanting with Chris De La Rosa of ChrisDeLaRosa.com About 660 feet in length it was named after then Colonial Governor of Trinidad and Tobago, Sir Courtney Knollys, who officially opened the new railway tunnel on 20th August 1898. Knollys’ Tunnel was built in 1898 to facilitate the train line, which was extended from Cunupia to Tabaquite. The train line was extended to allow the cocoa estates to move their produce out of the area. Cocoa was planted in Tabaquite, Caparo Valley, Brasso and Longdenville.
