This weekend we escape to L’Estany, a small medieval town in Moianès that hides one of the great jewels of Catalan Romanesque: the Monastery of Santa Maria de l’Estany and its spectacular Romanesque cloister. We walk through the quiet streets of the town, discover Carrer dels Monjos, enter the Romanesque church taking advantage of the fact that it was open before mass and finally visit the cloister, considered one of the most beautiful in Catalonia.
