In this video, I go through the basics of line coding in digital communications and solve a set of typical problems step by step. We cover common encoding schemes such as NRZ-L, NRZ-M, Manchester (Bi-phase), AMI, and other formats, and see how each one represents binary data as a waveform. I also work through examples involving PCM encoding and waveform sketching, similar to what you might see in exams. Some of the problems include: Drawing waveforms for different line coding techniques Comparing NRZ, RZ, Manchester, and AMI formats Understanding how encoding affects the transmitted signal Converting between different coding schemes RZ (Return-to-Zero) NRZ (Non-Return-to-Zero) NRZ-L (Level) NRZ-M (Mark) NRZ-S (Space) NRZ-I (Invert) AMI (Alternate Mark Inversion) I also built a simple interactive tool to help visualize these techniques: https://MohammedS2lah.github.io/Inter...
