A brief biography of the life and work of Swiss artist Paul Klee 😉 New video in the #artistsin10points series. ▼▼CONTINUE BELOW▼▼ Painter, printmaker, art teacher, and writer, Paul Klee is one of the most beloved figures in 20th-century art. Born to a German father and Swiss mother, both singing and music teachers, Klee also received a musical education and was himself a professional violinist. In 1898, he left for Munich and enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Franz von Stuck. During this period, he began writing his diaries, which continued until 1918. Klee deemed the initial phase of his studies unsatisfactory, but it nevertheless introduced him to the Jugendstil-inspired graphic art typical of the Secessionist movement.
