Baldwin #26 - First Moves Under Steam in 2015
In a roundhouse in Scranton, PA, something special was happening on December 10, 2015. At Steamtown NHS, for the first time in over 15 years, 0-6-0 steam locomotive Baldwin #26 moved under her own power, backing out of the roundhouse stall to begin a set of test runs around the Steamtown yard. Painted in a resplendent olive green color (the default color of Baldwin's steam locomotives before many were painted black), #26 moved around to various places in the yard complex, her whistle echoing throughout the area and drawing a crowd to see her. Now, thanks to the hard working shop crews, regularly operated steam trains will once again roam the rails at Steamtown NHS. Enjoy the video!
