Homemade Lemonade 1 ½ cup sugar 1 cup very warm/hot water (not boiling) 4-5 medium lemons 5 cups ice cold water Using a quart sized Mason jar (or large jar with a lid), add sugar and warm/hot water to the jar. Place the top securely on the jar and shake vigorously until the sugar has dissolved. Set aside until simple syrup is almost clear in color. Wash lemons, roll on a flat surface to help juice to release, then slice in half and juice until you have 1-cup fresh juice. As you are juicing lemons, process juice through a fine mesh strainer to catch any seeds. In a glass container add thinly sliced lemons, simple syrup and lemon juice. Mix well to incorporate. Then add 5-cups of ice cold water to the mixture and stir well to combine. Serve with additional lemon slices (optional) over ice. Lemonade should be stored in the refrigerator and will stay fresh for 5-7 days or longer in an airtight container. Enjoy!
