This time, I took a journey to trace the history of Oashi, Showa Village, Onuma District, Fukushima Prefecture. At the foot of Namimatsuyama Mountain, there was once a settlement where woodworkers lived. Although now completely covered in bushes, traces of the people's past lives quietly remain. In the video, we visit the area around the former site of the Tamagawa Winter Branch School of Oashi Elementary School, which opened in 1947 and closed in 1974. We also visit the beautiful Fujihachi Waterfall. This is a harsh, heavy snowfall area that is closed off by deep snow in winter. In this harsh environment, did the residents of that time also gaze upon this beautiful waterfall and the rich natural scenery in the same way...?
