Tsuji Hatsuhiko Biography [Nippon Express] Renowned as a speedy and skillful infielder, he was selected second overall by the Seibu Lions in the 1984 professional baseball draft. [Seibu Lions (1984-1995)] Became a regular second baseman in 1986, contributing to the team's league championship and Japan championship. In the 1990s, he was the leadoff hitter and second baseman during Seibu's golden age, and in 1993 won the double crown of leading hitter and highest on-base percentage. In the off-season of 1994, he was released from the roster and transferred to the Yakult Swallows. [Yakult Swallows (1996-1999), Coach (2000-2001)] Contributed to the team's 1997 league championship. Retired from active play in 1999 and began his coaching career in 2000. [Yokohama BayStars (Coach)] (2002-2004) Coached in Yokohama as an infield defense and baserunning coach since 2002. [Chunichi Dragons (Minor Team Manager 2007-2009, Coach 2010-2011, 2014-2016)] Devoted himself to developing young players as the minor team manager since 2007. Served as the first-team infield defense and baserunning coach from 2010, contributing to the team's 2011 league championship. Returned to coaching for the Chunichi Dragons in 2014. [Saitama Seibu Lions (Manager 2017-2021)] Became Seibu's manager in 2017.
