In this twin test, Chasing Cars road test editor John Law checks out mid-spec 2026 versions of the Kia Tasman and the Isuzu D-Max, both well placed for Aussies looking for decent features without breaking the bank account. The Tasman here on test is the mid-spec SX grade, priced here at $58,490 on road and offering 158kW and 440Nm from its 2.2-litre oiler. Our D-Max challenger is the X-Rider fitted with the relatively new-for-range 120kW/400Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine choice, clocking in a little cheaper at $57,685 driveaway.
