Synthesizer Trance Sounds BLIND TEST: JP-8000, AN1x, Minilogue Xd, Triton Classic, and Prophet Rev2.

One of the best advice people will tell you when buying a synthesizer, is to buy an instrument based on its sound and character/tone, and not for its looks, features, internet hype, specifications, or amount of knobs. This non-scientific, for fun, blind sound demo shows various synthesizers, and I attempted to capture the sound and character of each instrument, playing mostly trance-oriented sounds, without telling you what synth it is, until the end of each demo. I play various patches/programs either by hand, or using the arpeggiator, using custom programs, that I have created, and most programs shown here are available for download, below. The only synthesizer where I used some factory programs, was the JP-8000, because I only had mine for 4 days, and it had to be returned, due to it having too many problems. I think I was able to capture a reasonable amount of its trance character during that short time. Synthesizers in this blind test: Roland JP-8000 Yamaha AN1x Korg Minilogue Xd Korg Triton Classic Workstation Sequential Prophet Rev2 8-Voice I did not have access to a Access Virus, as I do not own one. All synthesizers used their internal EQ and effects only, if available. No other external processing was applied. Some viewers may be hardcore fans of a specific model, and may feel that "this blind test didn't make my synth sound the best!".
