Today in this video Dr Supriya Puranik (IVF Specialist, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist) will tell us about this in detail. What happens after cleaning the uterus (Dilation and curettage (D&C))? Earlier it was thought that when we get the uterus washed, pregnancy happens sooner because the mouth of the uterus opens up but that is a misconception. The mouth of the uterus is open when the menstrual cycle is on and bleeding starts. But, sometimes due to infection, there are adhesions in the uterus i.e. there are bands stuck to each other due to which it is a bit difficult for the embryo to stick. Then this D&C procedure is done. Due to which more cells are produced on the inner layer and pregnancy can be possible in the next month. Watch the full video for more information.
